I took this picture this morning of a very cold and hungry hummingbird. We had two of them chasing each other off the feeder! They were very happy to find some breakfast that wasn't frozen.
The girls measured the snow this morning. We had about 6 inches. It's been a long time since we have had snow before Thanksgiving.

Lighten up
I have been having so much fun with my Day of Gratitude set and my Autumn Spice DSP I thought I would use it again! I made a luminary.
I cut four 5 1/2 inch squares then used my creative memories circle cutters to cut circles in them. I stamped the medallion with Cajun craze SU ink on the vellum. I cut four more circles out of the Cajun craze paper to act as a mat on the vellum.

Stampin Celebration challenge #23
Happy Monday!! The sun is shinning and the leaves are turning gorgeous colors! It's a well deserved break from all the rain we had this weekend.
I love this time of year. Reds, oranges and golden yellow all my favs! I love the smell of pumpkin and apple cider. So I was very happy to be able to participate in this weeks challenge over at Stampin Celebration.
Here's my card:
I just received my Day of Gratitude stamps and the Autumn Spice designer series paper a couple days ago, I thought it would be perfect for this challenge. I used pear piazzazz and cajun craze ink on the leaves then cut them out. The sentiment is also stamped using cajun craze. I added some dark brown ric rac and a button. I hope everyone is enjoying a fantastic fall day!

Paper pumpkins
I have had one of the greatest days! Cleaned a little house this morning, planned something for dinner, watched my soap opera (tacky I know but I can't help it) then my mom came over to craft with me for the afternoon :) We made paper pumpkins. I have seen these in many craft magazines and always thought they would be fun to make.
I used my other new Sizzix die to cut the leave out of felt, attached a brown button and tied it with some twine.

EBTKS challenge
Halloween banner
I just wanted to put a shout out to my friend Jen who always inspires me with her beautiful projects. She is always coming up with new and creative ways to make things. So thank you Jen for not only being my friend but keeping me on my toes creatively!
Last year Jen created a banner similar to this one and I just loved it so this year I wanted to make one of my own. Nothing to fancy really, I used some paper I found at my local craft store by K & Company called Spooktacular. I loved the bold colors.
I had to use my glue gun to put on my ribbon boarder. My sewing machine is not working. The picture makes it look crooked but it's not, really it's not :)

OOOPS! I'm late!
I had made this card for Embellish Magazines latest challenge but I missed last nights deadline. Bummer!! I really liked the way the background paper turned out so I decided to post it anyway.
I stamped the grey paper with the paisley background stamp then embossed it with sterling silver embossing powder. It almost made the paper look like aluminum foil.

Stampin Celebration Challenge #22
I have been feeling very uninspired (busy keeping track of my two girls school, dance, soccer schedules) until I saw this weeks challenge over at Stampin Celebration. I am in love with bees!!! I couldn't wait to get out my Just Buzzin By stamps from Stampin Up! Hope you like what I created.
Here's the card...

I stamped the bee hive and the bees on watercolor paper using starzon black. Then used my watercolor crayons to paint them. I used chocolate chip, basic black and summer sun paper from Stampin Up!

First day of school!!
New girls room
Vacation Pics
Every year since the girls were 3 and 8 months (they are now 9 and almost 7) my husband and I have taken the girls to Cannon Beach for vacation. Again this year we had a fabulous time! Both the girls LOVE the beach. We all had a fantastic week enjoying the sand, surf and some much needed relaxation!
The girls were packing into the new Subaru ready for the ride to the beach.

After a long car ride and a quick walk on the beach the girls were ready to take a dip in the pool.
What do you think? Do they like the pool?
After the pool we went down to the beach and had hot dogs for dinner.
The next morning we found our favorite volunteer Lisa whom we have seen the last few summers. She is so wonderful! We are so lucky to have her show us around the tide pools. We get the chance to see things we would never see without her.
