ColorQ challenge

I am really loving these color challenges over at ColorQ. It's so much fun to see how everyone uses the same colors in so many different ways. Head on over and check them out for yourself. So here is my card.



I used for the first time the Pedaling Past set from StampinUp! The paper colors are Bermuda Bay, Early Espresso, Old Olive and White. I used the Peach Parfait and Early Espresso inks. The ribbon in also StampinUp!

I made this card for the ColorQ challenge #41. I really loved this combination of colors. A bit of an 80's vibe.

Our Little Graduate!

Our youngest daughter Angela graduated from Kindergarten last Friday. We have been so blessed this year with a fantastic teacher! Angela has enjoyed everyday and has made some great new friends. It's a bit sad to see her leave Kindergarten but she's looking forward to being a First grader next year!

My wonderful dancers

This last weekend was spent at my daughters dance recitals. They have both worked so hard and practiced many, many hours to get ready for this weekend. The recital was called "Rosehill Revealed In A Dancers Dream". Rosehill is the the community center where they take their classes. Years ago Rosehill was an Elementary school.

Angela was a Firefighter for her tap dance. Rosehill burned down years ago. Natalie was a music student for her ballet dance. For Natalies jazz dance she was a student in the lunch room. They danced to "Just Eat It" by Weird Al. It was a very fun dance to watch.

For Angelas ballet dance she was a pink rose. She was on stage with yellow and purple roses too.

Natalie during her ballet performance. Her costume was so beautiful on stage. It really sparkled in the spot lights.

Angela during her tap performance. She was a firefighter. The cutest firefighter I have ever seen! They had a real fire hose they got to bring out on stage. The dancers before them were "fire" so the girls got to put out the fire by chasing them from the stage at the beginning of the performance.

We had a fantastic time watching them dance. I'm so proud of them both!

Yet another butterfly

Last but certainly not least one more card for the Embellish Butterflies Color Challenge.

I made this butterfly my trimming one of my paper flowers. I cut one of the petals off then trimmed the top two petals to look more like the wings of a butterfly. I used some green micro beads and larger ones to create the body.

This butterfly I used another paper flower. This time I used only the larger beads clustered together to form the body. Again I used gable green, kraft and basic black SU! paper. I tied the twine around the kraft for more detail. My daughter thought the twine made the paper look like a piece of wood. Thoughts? I'd love to read your comments.

More butterflies

Another card for the Embellish Butterflies Color Challenge.

I used my SU! background stamp, stamped it in black and embossed it so it would look bold (you can't tell that it's bold from the picture). The butterfly is punched with my butterfly punch. I used gable green SU! ink and a sponge to sponge the green onto the butterfly. I used two sparkly green jewels to enhance the butterfly. Again I used kraft, gable green and basic black SU! paper for this card.

Embellish Butterflies

I made this card for the Embellish Butterflies color challenge. I've been having tons of fun with the colors for this challenge.


I used kraft, basic black and celery paper from SU! The butterfly is made with the butterfly punch also from SU! I used some pearls I had to fancy up the butterfly. Whatcha think?
